When NOMA commissioned TwoMetreTall to make the opening beverage for the degustation menu of their 2016 Australian residency, to honour one of the world’s best restaurants, we re-imagined the beverage with the worst reputation – ‘Snakebite’ – by blending aged cider & ale. This cheeky provocation delighted guests & garnered international acclaim for dining innovation.
Our new release BLACK SNAKE, riffing on the ‘Snake’ theme, continues this exploration of unconventional ale & cider blends, this time in a darker context.
A black ale, brewed in April 2019 with dark roasted malts, has been blended with a 3-year-old, barrel-aged cider and then matured a further 3 months in former red wine barrels. The unique blending of ale & cider makes for a remarkably complex & delicious drink. – Two Metre Tall
