Based in Upper Moutere, on the north west of the South Island of New Zealand, Kindeli has become one of the most sought after and internationally renowned natural winemakers in NZ. They have a small cellar where they craft zero additive wines from 10 different varieties. They farm 11 hectares of organic grapes across 4 vineyards (a combination of owned and leased), with soil types ranging from clay, to gravel and silt.

The 2019 Verano rosé is a lovely snapshot of Alex’s entire vineyard using every variety grown on his vineyard, co-fermenting in three lots and then blending. Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir & Syrah. A mix of some whole bunch, some direct press and some skin contact. Ageing and fermentation were almost entirely in stainless steel. As usual, the wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without sulphur. Vibrant light red in colour it’s bursting with raspberry, rhubarb, rose petal and smoked cedar wood. Zippy acidity this rosé is waaaaaay too easy to drink!
