Good Intentions Wine Co. is made up of wife and husband duo Louise and Andrew. Based on a small property in Mount Gambier on Australia’s youngest volcano, where they own and farm all their chardonnay vines, sourcing the rest of their grapes from nearby Coonawarra while their freshly planted pinot noir grows.
Using old world methods, hand picking fruit and open fermenting with indigenous yeast only. Producing great tasting, unique wines that express this unique terroir above anything else.
Previous vintages of Pinot Noir have come from the long standing leased ‘Boxer’s Vineyard’, however after it’s sale the new owners ripped it all out; some Mount Gambier wine region growers rallied and offered the pinot needed to make this special release.
The wine consists of grapes from three vineyards and three distinct soil profiles.
– volcanic soils from Square Mile Vineyard
– flint and limestone soils from Kongorong
– clay and sandy soils over limestone from Yahl Estate
Staying true to their style, they leaned in to the terroir expression with this wine and have produced a light, soft and fruit forward pinot with plush tannins.
