Organically grown syrah from the Adelaide Hills. Bright red fruited, LoFi Syrah. Jean Bouteille has made a stunning wine, with the addition of a small parcel of Viognier from an abandoned vineyard in the rolling Basket Ranges, over looking McLaren Vale. It’s been given a week of carbonic maceration, lifting the aromatics while imparting a deep red colour. Foot stomped and aged for seven months in French barriques, truly minimal intervention, really letting the fruit and terroir shine through.
Some nice dusty tannins make this a perfect wine to pair with something a bit heavier. Bright red fruit takes the forefront with some notes of olive tapenade and pepper.
