Continental Platter is a vinous journey around Australia from the good folks at wine distribution company Principal Wine (and incredible Melbourne venues such as Embla) with the intention of making delicious wine for everyday drinking. Their philosophy to deliver this is to take their deep understanding of viticulture to support growers into sustainable quality driven practices. All the grapes are sourced from different regions of Australia, from growers that are farming organically, biodynamically or are farming in a sustainable way and working towards certification. All wines are produced utilising indigenous yeast and the only additive they receive is a small amount of SO2 at bottling. The 2021 rosé is made from biodynamically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon from the Margaret River region in WA. The wine pours a lovely light pink with just a tinge of orange. There’s some lovely citrus aromas bursting from the glass, pink grapefruit, orange zest and some dried herbs in the background. The citrus vibes follow through on the pallet with some Campari-like bitter orange and some lovely light grippy texture. Seriously delicious.
