Jordi Llorens is an absolute sunbeam of a human. So kind and happy, he lights up the room with his positivity and infectious smile and his wines are filled with the same uplifting joy and are insanely pure, vibrant and alive. Easily one of our favourite natural wine producers in Spain, we were lucky enough to visit him and his incredible but tiny winery and vineyards in September 2019 and he repaid the favour when he visited Australia in November that year and hosted an epic event with us at Mr West. Jordi has been producing his own wine in the stunning Conca de Barbera region of Catalonia since 2008 and in 2012, after being inspired by fellow Catalonian natural winemaker Joan Ramon Escoda, he decided to produce all his wines without any additions whatsoever, just beautiful organic grapes.
This wine comes from a single plot at 600m above sea level. A field blend of Grenache, Syrah, Sumoll, Sumoll Blanc and Moscatel, it is foot-pressed and macerated for two weeks before being aged 6 months in amphora.
