Elodie Balme started producing her own wines in 2006 when she took the 6 hectares of old vines which she inherited from her father and expanded it to 14 hectares. Elodie has become an upcoming young talent of wine producers. Her winemaking is simple and influenced by Marcel Richaud, considered to be the godfather of natural wine in the Rhone Valley. Grapes are sorted and then de-stemmed, except Carignan which is fermented with whole bunches. Fermentations are completely natural without any additives. They are short with soaking only while natural yeast populations propagate. Extraction is very soft with a single daily irrigation of the cap. Ferments and all aging takes place in concrete tanks.
This wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan.
