The idea of a collaborative effort between diminutive Barossa Valley Winemaker, Tom Shobbrook, and Two Metre Tall wild fermenter and brewer Ashley Huntington, could have been an infinitely wild & expansive undertaking. Add the passionate and wicked creativity of the extraordinary ‘ideas man’ Giorgio De Maria though and the only answer is a beer fermented with wine. A wildly innovative, gloriously refreshing, intriguingly delicious table beverage from two producers at the opposite ends of the spectrum, brought together by cutting-edge Italian food and beverage know-how.
This years iteration was made more to cater to Shobbrook’s true preference to dark beers. Tiny black Barossa Valley shiraz grape skins from 88 year old vines, co-fermented in oak with dark ale for 12 months, then matured a further 12 months before bottling.
