What to Expect:

Mr West and Blak Brews present a Tea & Cocktail Masterclass, hosted by Mr West’s Nathan Beasley and Blak Brews’ Troy Benjamin.

Founded by husband and wife duo Troy & Cerisa Benjamin, Blak Brews began as a side project that quickly became something much bigger. From their first blends in 2023 to becoming the inaugural winners of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars, they’ve carved out a bold new lane for tea, one that’s distinctly Australian and full of character.

Nathan will be looking after the cocktail side of things, and with an Australian Bartender of the Year title in 2014, consistent appearances on Australian Bartender magazine’s list of the industry’s most influential people, and many more achievements to his name, you know you’re in for a treat.

Settle in for the afternoon as they dive into their respective beverage worlds, exploring the space where tea and alcohol meet, spanning history, technique and flavour.

Together, they’ll unpack the long-standing relationship between tea and alcohol, and why tea has become such a powerful ingredient in modern cocktails. Expect insights into tea’s versatility, tannin, fermentation, aromatics and structure, and how Blak Brews has pushed these elements into new territory through their blends.

Nathan and Troy will bring this to life through a series of cocktail and tea serves, sharing practical tips and simple drink hacks you can take home to lift your own tea (and cocktail) game.
