Witching Hour is one of three big dark beers we’ve loved from Hawkers this year. A big imperial porter, which is deep, rich, and robust, Witching Hour has heaps of roasted malts with a portion of wheat and rye in the mash to deliver a complex malt backbone. It might not have touched a barrel (yet, this is Hawkers after all) but there’s a touch of bourbon-esque vanilla sweetness present on the nose and across the palate, joined by a light spice and rich chocolate.
