Browerij Verhaeghe Vichte is a small family owned brewery from the Western Flanders region of Belgium with a history that dates back to 1885. They have a number of brand identities under their portfolio, with their most well known being Duchesse De Bourgogne. A Flanders Red style with a ripe sweetness and mild acidity, it is one of the most iconic flanders reds we see imported into Australia rivalled only by Rodenbach. This iteration of Duchesse is made with fresh cherry juice, which adds a wonderful red fruit character on the palate and an earthy spice that creates an almost Dr Pepper like aroma on the nose.
