Momento Mori have become an iconic natural wine label with a cult following. Husband and Wife team, Dane and Hannah Johns have a small vineyard in Gippsland that they live and work on. With an ethos of “simple desire to make wines that first and foremost have respect for the living.” They farm chemical-free, with strictly organic principals. Anything they don’t grow themselves is sourced carefully from like-minded growers throughout Victoria. The wines are made in small batches, using wild yeast and with every part of the process done by hand.

The 2023 Fistful of Flowers is a blend of Moscato Giallo and Vermentino, with the fruit being sourced from the Chalmers vineyards. Plenty of rain in 2023 has resulted in very high quality fruit straight off the vine. Relatively low sugar and great ripeness meant they were able to pick early and keep the keep the abv lower. Lemon, blossoms and stone fruit with a fine salinity tying it all together.
