Brothers Koerner is the fun & very approachable side project from the Koerners, showcasing fruit from two regions, the Clare Valley, and the Adelaide Hills. Both areas are climatically unique and produce distinctly different wines. However, their aim is to make them in a similar way, picking fruit early and taking a minimal intervention approach to the winemaking. Their focus is on classic varieties, with the Brothers Koerner project giving them a platform to continue experimenting with their winemaking across both regions. Ultimately their aim is to make really good wine that appeals to all palates.
The Cabernet Shiraz is a classic claret blend- red fruit, earthy and nice tannins. 100% destemmed, retaining around 50% whole berry with no whole bunch, Slavonian oak Foudre for 12 months, then racked to stainless for 3 months.
