Borachio translated from Spanish (Borracho) essentially means a wine carrier or a drunkard. Alicia Basa and Mark Warner have a good thing going on in the Adelaide Hills. After starting their winemaking work with James Erskine of Jauma, now Alicia and Mark have well and truly built their own reputation. Using fruit sourced from organically farmed vineyards, their wines are energetic and fun, with minimal intervention and none of the bad stuff added in.
Perfect match this year is a blend of Chardonnay and Dolcetto, sitting somewhere nicely between being a super accessible skinsy rosé wine with just enough funk to keep it interesting. Citrus, berries, a little funk.
