Gary Mills does fantastic work. Each of his wines tells a unqiue story of time and place. Illaj is a story of comfort, as it’s name means “remedy” in Arabic and “cure” in Hindi. It’s a warm blanket on a cold night; an embrace from our loved ones just when we’re feeling lonely. Picked over multiple sites on multiple days for complexity, this full-bodied syrah is soft and gentle on the palate, with notes of black pepper and old oak. Illaj is easy to glugg and easy to love.
