Val-Dieu Abbey is a former Cistercian monastery in the Wallonia region of Belgium, with a history dating back over 800 years. The most recent chapter of its beer history was the establishment of The Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu in the abbey farm in 1997.
Belgian dark strong with the roasted malt character being the dominant feature, complimented by hints of chocolate, dark sugar, dark fruit and a medium bitterness. A very complex and yet soft aroma with a gentle spicy note to the lingering aftertaste.
