Glenturret are the oldest uninterrupted working distillery in Scotland. Its a small operation that churns out most of its Whisky as the backbone for the Grouse range of Blended Whiskies, most popularly Famous Grouse. The distillery use spring water that rises over granite and flows over peat and collects in the Turret River in their distillations.
Aged in ex-bourbon American Oak Casks. Mild peat and soot on the nose, oily and earthy. Syrup, sweet, butterscotch and cereal on the palate. Slight fruity character. Very stone-fruity finish likened to mildly smoked apricots and pears.
