We love bourbon and stout. For years we’ve been trying to keep up with demand with what resources we had. This year we were able to secure 14 Buffalo Trace barrels and found the space to be able to brew into them. We are so excited to start playing with ageing stouts in barrels – & it’s only the beginning with lots more exciting projects planned in the future.
Pure luxury. We made a delicious Russian Imperial Stout and then added it to bourbon barrels. The base is rich and smooth with an almost slick fortified character. The nose alludes to vanilla, aniseed and bourbon, with layers of chocolate, roasted malt and warming alcohol. – Mismatch Brewing
