The beers at Burnley Brewing are well looked after by head brewer Michael Stanzel, a Melburnian who spent eight years working and completing a Brewing and Malting apprenticeship in Germany. With the motto ‘German inspired, Melbourne brewed’ the brewery make everything from Helles Lagers and Marzens, to IPAs and Milk Stouts.
If a craft brewery is going to do anything they better be making a fresh hop beer every year – this is Burnley’s go at that, whilst also sitting in their Eco Project. They’ve sourced freshly harvested, certified sustainable Victoria hop cones from Ryefield Hops. They loaded 20kg of the hop cones into the whirlpool then dry hopped with Ryefield Victoria and Chinook hops. Resulting in an IPA with sticky, green and piney hop notes and hints of citrus and stone fruit.
