James Madden lives, grows, produces and bottles all the Scintilla wines on his little slice of paradise in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. All Scintilla wines are produced from vines grown and managed with organic and/or biodynamic principles. With everything made with minimal intervention, all grapes are hand picked and fermented with wild yeast.

Scintilla Dayspring Blanc Chardonnay in 2023 delivers texture and finesse in spades. The nose offers a fresh, citrus orchard aroma that develops into a soft, enveloping richness reminiscent of warm lemon cake made with almond meal. This nuttiness is also evident on the palate, where white peach is accompanied by a comforting oiliness, like macadamia oil and chantilly cream. The wine is whole bunch pressed to the tank for settling and primary fermentation, then racked on fine lees to old French puncheons before being racked and bottled in the spring sunshine.
