Manyara Wines based in the Adelaide Hills is owned by Simon and Melissa Roe. Their vineyard and home are located on a property at Balhannah, about 30 minutes from Adelaide, where they live and breathe the seasons and the fortunes of each vintage. The cool climate region has low night-time temperatures and good rainfall, providing ideal grape growing conditions. As of 2022 the Manyara vineyards are certified organic.
This Pinot Grigio is carefully handpicked in March from a single site. The grapes were gently pressed, and the free run juice was then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The juice was fermented cold to capture the subtle flavours of the vintage and was left on yeast lees for 4 months to develop mid palate complexity. This process resulted in a Pinot Grigio that displays balance and persistent length. The nose displays subtle white floral flavours and spiced pear. The palate also displays apple and hints of poached pear with spice on the back palate complemented by a lovely textural finish.
