Our buddy Steve from Slice Shop Pizza is a busy man. When he is not sitting at the bar drinking upstairs at Mr West, he is making pizza. When he is not making pizza, he is smoking up some of Melbourne’s best BBQ at Burn City in Kingsville. When he is not smoking brisket, he is making wine! This year was his second commercial vintage and as such, these wines are limited to only a lucky few.
Pink Drink is the first release of the 22 vintage from Steve and is a very pretty light red/rosé made with Shiraz from Humis Vineyard in Heathcote. The grapes were fully destemmed at picking and underwent a wild ferment in a 1000ltr container, which took around 9 months. Zero added sulphur. Big confectionary vibes on the nose. Raspberry frogs, cranberry, lemon zest with bright acidity and a nice and chewy finish. Very fun, slurpable juice!
