Pinot Gris from Robert Surmann’s vineyard in Totness with 25 year old vines grown on black sandy soil overlying petrified schist, V.S.P. trained and spur pruned. The fruit is whole bunched pressed and fermented a 800 litre terracotta amphora and aged on lees. The wine is only the free run fraction. A touch of pink hues through the luminescent rose gold, giving rise to flowers…sweet peas bloom elegantly on the backyard fence while violets play in the beds. So perfumed with delicate crushed orchards building beautiful feelings. – Lucy Margaux
