2019 Koerner 100% Grenache from Watervale in the Clare Valley. Vines plated in 1930 on red clay limestone. Grapes were picked on February 23 & March 2, 2019. Hand-harvested and sorted in vineyard then destemmed retaining 50% whole berries with no whole bunch. Natural ferment in open-top steel fermenters, hand plunged twice daily and left on skins for 10 days. Free run and pressings combined and settled off gross lees for 7 days. Aged in ceramic amphora and 2000L Slavonian oak Foudre for 3 months, then stainless steel for 7 months. No fining. – Brothers Koerner
