This is exceptional dry, sparkling rosé from the Loire Valley.
The blend of this wines changes slightly each year but in 2017 it’s a blend of chenin blanc and the red variety grolleau.
Sylvain Martinez is a calm, patient and enormously experienced farmer and winemaker. He farms just a few hectares across less than five small vineyards and makes structured, delicious and age worthy examples of chenin blanc, grolleau, gamay and pineau d’Aunis.
His 2017 Rosa Bul is really wonderful example of how great 2017 was in the Loire. There is enormous mineral concentration and the fruit is relatively restrained.
Serve from the fridge but there’s no need to put this cuvee on ice. Enjoy with or without food. – Campbell Burton Wines
