Venetian wine made by three brothers: Marco, Daniele and Andrea Filippini. Together they farm their 4 hectares organically, working with native grape varietals. Following minimal intervention farming and winemaking practices and with very little manipulation in the cellar, they strive to make sure each wine is distinctly terroir driven. All their wines are wild fermented with native yeast, unfined, unfiltered, and have very minimal amounts of sulfur addition when necessary.
The 2022 Occhio Al Rosso is made from 100% Tai Rosso (Grenache Noir). Maceration on the skins for about a week, with delicate punching down then aged in oak.
Earthy, game meat and red cherries, a touch of tomato leaf and some Mediterranean herbs. Bright finish and general softness which was surprising given it’s 13.5% abv.
