Sailors Grave is farmhouse brewery that set up shop in a 100yr old butter factory on the outskirts of Orbost, East Gippsland. They’ve become known for their unique beers, not shying away from layering complexities in to one can. Handmade and ever changing, they make a diverse style of beers utilising local foraged and farmed produce. We love them for taking risks on some, frankly, pretty out there concepts that they somehow deliver on time and time again.
Bloody Caesar Gose is a wild combination of lacto-fermented Roma tomatoes and Wapengo rock oysters. It’s complex, savoury, briny and refreshing. On the palate, the beer has a light and refreshing body, similar to a michelada, with heaps of umami. Slightly salty, and slightly acidic, with a lingering tartness from the lacto-fermented Goshen Country Roma Tomatoes.
