Produced by our good friend Doug Lilburne, winemaker of Mise En Place Wines in collaboration with the highly regarded winemaker Ben Haines. ‘Mûr’ is an exploration into the possibilities of co-fermenting grapes with all manner of other fruits and more. Wild yeast fermented, minimal intervention creations with no additives other than a very small amount of sulphur.
This is a co-ferment of Cabernet, fig and plum. A seriously inspired idea that opens up a whole new level of flavours, aromas and textures yet is seamlessly harmonious. If you weren’t told there were fruits other than grapes in this wine, you wouldn’t pick it. You’d just think it was a really juicy, fruit forward wine but when you know you can really see the amazing layers of flavour and complexity that they add. We are very very impressed with this unique creation.
