Sobremesa Fermentary & Blendery, the brewing company, launched in late 2020 and is the work of Casey Grieve and Hannah McErlane. ‘Sobremesa’ is Spanish and refers to the time spent relaxing at the table after a shared meal – which is exactly what Casey and Hannah want us to celebrate more; ideally with one of their farmhouse style beers in hand.
Brewed with grains from House of Malt (VIC) & hopped lightly w/ Saaz (CZ). Orange peel, grapefruit peel & indian coriander in the boil. Primary fermentation in a single puncheon w/ a blend of saccharomyces, lactobacillus and brettanomyces for 14 months. Packaged on September 21st 2023 and naturally conditioned in can for 6 months. Bright orange, white pepper and wet hay on the nose.
It has a fresh palate while retaining structure. Grapefruit, well developed oak and a racy acid line. Refreshing, textural w/ a pithy bitterness. – Notes from Sobremesa
