From the commune of Blacé in Beaujolais, Domaine De Selene is headed up by Sylvere Trichard. Sylvere, who honed his understanding of gentle winemaking with Domaine Belluard in Savoie and Domaine Lapalu of Brouilly, took over the family’s four hectares from his uncle in 2012. There are now 6.5 hectares under vine, all farmed organically.
As is tradition in Beaujolais, a lot of wine goes into concrete vats, with some experimentation with fermenting in foudre. Wines are made with no filtration, no fining and no sulphur.
