Some beautiful clones of Chardonnay from the Côte d’Or cane pruned, north south facing, planted in the ancient clay rich soils of Forest Range. Whole bunch pressed to tank initially. Once primary ferment was well under way the wine was racked off gross lees to 7 year old french oak hogsheads. It was left on fine lees with some winter bâtonnage for 12 months. Nervy, fresh and crunchy although with a bit of air and time it reveals a burst of nice lush mid palate warmth. Bottled early summer. – Scintilla
