Karl and Eva Schanbel’s extraordinary brandy is made up of distillation of pinot noir, blaufrankisch and zweigelt from 2004, 2005 and 2007. The barrel was filled with the 2007 distillation, the bung was placed in the barrel and the brandy was bottled 11 years later without dilution. The final alcohol level is 53.5% and believe me when I say that this is a masterpiece.
It’s full of aromatic richness and intrigue…there’s fruit, chocolate and then the glorious, delicious aroma of age and time. On the palate this is concentrated, complex and staggeringly good.
Enjoy neat, in a whisky glass just below room temperature. This is a rare jewel. – Distributor’s notes
