Morningtons Devil Bend are one of a very small number of Australian breweries who can truly call themselves a farmhouse brewery. Growing their own barley, wheat and hops to use in their beers means the can create beers that truly showcase a sense of time and place. Up to now they have only released clean beers, but with Koelschip they make their debut into the wild ale world. This beer uses grains and aged hops which were grown on site, rainwater collected on the farm and is fermented with yeast and bacterias collected by the beer in their koelschip. It presents with bright lemon zest, a touch of horse blanket from the wild yeast and has a bright and complex acid profile.
