Founded in 2010, Heaps Good Wine Company is a small family owned winery situated in Ritoznoj in the foothills of the Pohorje range in Stajerska Slovenija. New Zealand expat Nick Gee worked all over the world making wines and gaining experience – having completed 25 harvests in his time, across 4 different countries, and with over 20 different grape varieties –  before settling in Stajerska.

Nick works with both international and local varieties, using minimal intervention and adds as to produce wines that express the individuality of their vineyard sites. The cool climate of Stajerska allows Nick to make wines of balance, purity, restraint and elegance.

Made with Furmint and Pinot Gris, grown in Malečnik, Maribor, Lower Styria. Varieties are hand picked and processed separately, fully destemmed, fermented wild and pressed off skins after fermentation and rester in old French barrels for 12 months.

Proper orange in colour, orange peel, crunchy orange fruit. Nice acid structure, mouth watering, mild tannin presence, pepper, finishes long and clean.
