We love Austrian wines at Mr West. The whites like Pinot Blanc can be so textural and nutty and the rest rich and robust! One of the main reasons we categorise our wine shelves by pallet weight at Mr West and not by grape variety or region is so places like Austria and Grapes like Zweigelt get an opportunity to be seen! This wine has a breath-taking nose that is driven by notes of rose petals and tar. It is rugged yet still exceedingly seductive. Bursting with flavours of blackcurrant and leather. We believe that Austria is an awesome part of the wine world and they make great wines that are inexpensive and offer tremendous value when compared to imported wines from say that of France. Ceel is what the historic city in Burgenland was originally named in 1317 before later being renamed to Rust.
