In the deep southeast a butterfly flaps its wings; two weeks later in the subtropical north a tornado is born. Such is the chaos that surrounds this 8.5% abv Double India Pale Ale. A chance meeting, a quick friendship and two regional breweries, coming together to celebrate the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in a deterministic nonlinear system. Also, beer was involved.

Not just another Double IPA in a big can, Butterfly Effect was styled off of an American Wheat Ale. A decent cocoon of malted wheat has dried out the body and allowed the hops to break free. Getting jammed in all over the place, we have Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, Mosaic and Enigma, all playing their parts in a tropical, piney, dank, resinous, lupulin bomb. Have a sip, have two, who knows where this will lead.
