In February this year after coming out of Victoria’s epic lockdown, we saw some of our local fruit growers struggling to find workers to pick what was an otherwise bumper season of fruit. With an abundance of pristine fruit sitting idle on branches we decided to team up with the crew at Carwyn Cellars to see how we could engage and assist one of our local growers. We reached out to Sunland Fruit who have some of the best stone fruit orchards in the country before jumping in the van to roll our sleeves up and spend the day in Cobram Victoria hand-picking fruit for a unique new beer.
The quality of the fruit was exceptional so we decided to make not one but two unique oak-aged wild ales using the incredible peaches and plums from Sunland Fruit Orchards and the results are spectacular. Allowing the fruit to naturally ferment in hand-selected barrels of our signature wild ale by the team at Carwyn Cellars we have created something seriously supernatural that represents everything we love at La Sirène. – La Sirene Brewing
