Golden Sour Beer Aged in Oak Barrels with Morello Sour Cherries.

In early January we received a load of morello sour cherries from the Yarra Valley which are only available fresh for 2-3 weeks of the year. Knowing we only had one chance this year to create Fortune Telling Lady we spent many months deciding on the appropriate blend of base golden barrel-aged sour beer to best showcase the early season cherries. During the 3 months bottle conditioning in our temperature-controlled room, our in house artist created the beautiful watercolour label that adorns our bottle. The 2020 vintage pours a bright red with dissipating white head. Aromatically this beer throws soft brett tones with a touch of oak and a rich dried cherry aroma that excites the senses. A medium level of acidity shares the palate with a textural complex beer that’s bright and elegant. Fortune Telling Lady is a showcase of the quality fruit from the Yarra Valley and the ever-evolving breathing organism that is Future Mountain. – Future Mountain Brewing
