Friulano and Moscato grapes from Quealy Vineyard in Balnarring.
Fully destemmed Friulano with whole bunches of Moscato thrown on top and pressed after 4 days on skins. Wild ferment in French barrique, which took around 30 days.
Took all the lees off and left the wine in barrel for 5 months, before assembling in tank and letting it hang out for over a month.
This wine taught me a lot about how when things go wrong it doesn’t help to stress or annoy people around me about it.
In the end a lovely wine considering I didn’t get bottles I wanted and my corks never showed up. I must thank Kathleen Quealy who I bought the lovely fruit from and who this wine is named after, as well as Al Reed and Charlie Osborne for their generosity, in particular putting up with my whinging.
That said I love this wine…
It displays white peach and white chocolate, it is both 1950’s brutal architecture and white fairies dancing at the same time, the color is delightful and this wine will develop beautifully over time. – Kanenas Wines
